How
is this automobile tracker different from any others you may find?
Most other battery operated trackers run continuously, requiring
large battery packs or connection to the car battery. Our device
has a built in motion detector that allows it to run in low power
mode, until the vehicle is in motion. This allows the device to
last up to 18 days on 4 AA batteries.
How
do you install it? The
strong magnets on the electronics box and the antenna make it
a breeze to install. The antenna (the small rounded rectangle
at the end of the wire in the photo above), should be placed in
a location that permits adequate reception of the GPS signal.
GPS signals cannot go through metal, but they can penetrate glass
and bounce off objects, like pavement. The instructions provide
installation tips for covert and non-covert use of the GPS Tracker.
How
does it work? Simply
turn the unit on, place it on the vehicle and you are recording.
To playback the recorded data, retrieve the device and connect
it to your computer. The mapping software included with the package
tells you where, when and how fast the vehicle was traveling.
Travel and stopping points can be displayed at street level detail
(Example "Elm street 800-900 block").
